Company Overview
This US-based client is a leading asset management firm specializing in managing investments across various companies and entities. We are seeking an experienced and analytical Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. This position is fully remote and will report directly to the Head of the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) division.
Position Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in underwriting multifamily and land acquisition deals, working closely with the Head of the CRE division. This role involves detailed financial modeling, maintaining proformas for existing deals, and supporting the evaluation of new investment opportunities.
Maintaining existing proformas includes regularly updating financial models to reflect current market conditions, operational changes, and other relevant factors. This ensures that each investment's financial projections remain accurate and aligned with business objectives. The analyst will also review and adjust assumptions related to rent growth, occupancy rates, construction costs, financing terms, and other key variables, ensuring that these models provide reliable data for decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite multifamily and land acquisition deals, including developing and analyzing financial models to assess potential investment opportunities.
- Maintain and update proformas for existing real estate investments, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with the Head of the CRE division to prepare detailed financial analyses and recommendations for potential acquisitions.
- Conduct due diligence on new acquisition targets, including market research, competitive analysis, and financial feasibility assessments.
- Prepare and present financial reports and investment summaries to senior management and stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for existing investments, identifying opportunities for value enhancement.
- Support the negotiation process by providing financial insights and recommendations.
- Stay current with market trends, real estate regulations, and industry developments to inform underwriting decisions.
- Prepare investment memorandums (PPT) for potential acquisitions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., MBA, CFA) are a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in CRE underwriting, with a focus on multifamily and land acquisitions.
- Experience in a family office, large servicer, lender, bank, developer, builder, or similar companies is a must.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including experience with complex financial modeling
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and real estate investment analysis.
- In-depth understanding of the commercial real estate market, particularly in multifamily and land development.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information.
- Ability to work independently in a remote work environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proactive and detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
