This is a fully remote role for our US-based client, an accounting firm offering a wide range of financial services to their clients in diverse industries. The firm specializes in financial, tax, legal, and consulting services, focusing on entrepreneurially driven businesses and high net worth individuals. With a culture of accountability and results, they provide services such as audit and assurance, tax compliance and planning, business consulting, estate planning, and M&A services through a team of over 50 US-based and 20-30 offshore professionals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex entity-level and individual tax returns, including multi-state and foreign bank reporting.
- Interact directly with clients to gather information and resolve tax-related issues.
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities and provide client recommendations for tax-saving strategies.
- Perform fundamental tax research and address government agency tax notifications.
- Develop and maintain client relationships, acting as a Client Service Manager (CSM).
- Provide technical training and informal mentoring to tax department staff and outsourced providers.
- Participate in recruiting and onboarding tax department staff and interns.
- Actively contribute to process improvement initiatives within the tax department.
- Maintain continuous client interaction throughout the year to stay updated on changes to their tax situations.
- Support the firm’s growth by understanding and promoting various service initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in preparation of tax returns in a CPA firm.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other relevant fields.
- Strong time management skills are necessary.
- Financial and accounting experience; ability and willingness to work with a significant degree of autonomy; creativity; high service orientation.
- Ability to operate independently and “self-manage” projects.
- Result- and profit-oriented, with the ability to balance other business considerations.
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
- High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.
- Superior numeric skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
