Overview

This is a remote role for our client, a Shopify partner from Canada. As a Project Manager, you'll be responsible for guiding complex software development projects from conception to completion. We're looking for someone with a strong background in project management within the software industry, who has a deep understanding of project management tools and methodologies. Your role will involve collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and implementation, as well as taking responsibility for projects, Feeling accountable for both the work and the process.
• Utilize tools such as JIRA and Confluence to manage projects, track progress, and report issues.
• Break down high-level project requirements into manageable chunks, including mid and low-level requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate closely with development and design teams to refine and execute user stories.
• Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables efficiently.
• Communicate effectively with clients to keep them informed of project progress and address their needs and feedback.
• Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
• Assess the feasibility of concepts and ensure scope matches proposed budget and time frame (while always promoting creativity)
• Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
• Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution.
• Anticipates and resolves problems on their projects, demonstrating an ability to manage an increased number of projects and decisions. Can more actively resolve problems without requiring escalation.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle, including planning, execution, testing, and deployment, to effectively manage complex projects and ensure timely delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 2 years of project management experience in software development.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with project management tools and methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• PMP, Agile, or Scrum Master certifications are preferred but not required.
• Experience in client-facing roles, particularly in a software development environment, is preferred.
