Overview
The AV Design Engineer plays a key role in the designs of the AV Engineering Department. The AV Design Engineer will be expected to produce complete Engineering Documentation according to the Engineering Departments schedule. The AV Design Engineer will be working with the Sales team to help with project designs and quoting, providing documentation for submittals when required, providing documentation and technical support for the Implementation team, and providing closeout documentation. The AV Design Engineer will be the technical expert on each project and will support the project team to deliver solutions that meet or exceed the customer’s expectations within expected budgets and schedules.
Responsibilities

- Always exhibit a client centric attitude for both internal and external clients.
- Produce proposals, scopes of work, take-offs, and other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager to support the sales team.
- Work with Architects, Consultants, Contractors, Vendors and Clients to provide technical assistance and ensure proper preconstruction requirements are met and implement changes as they occur.
- Produce drawings, BOM’s and other documentation to support the Project Managers and Technicians.
- Provide technical expertise to the project team on AV projects.
- Manage relationships with partners, vendors, and clients directly and through networking events.
- Obtain an AVIXA CTS-D certification within 90 days of hire date.
- Complete requirements needed for certifications assigned by Management.
- Other duties assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Proven Audiovisual Engineering experience.
- Understanding of audiovisual technologies and products for Commercial applications.
- Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and Microsoft Office suite.
- Advanced English level.
- Excellent communication skills with a client focused mentality and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of Control System, DSP, and other AV product setup and programming.
- Ability to use AutoCAD efficiently.
- Crestron, AMX and/or Q-SYS programming certifications are a plus.
- Ability to obtain AVIXA CTS-D certification within 1 year.
