Role overview
As a Senior Controller you will play a pivotal role in financial management, overseeing the transition to accrual/GAAP basis, leading monthly financial reporting efforts, managing audits, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a commitment to excellence in financial transparency.
Responsibilities
- Transition to Accrual/GAAP Basis:
- Lead the transition from cash to accrual accounting for accurate and comprehensive monthly financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and consistently implement best practices in financial reporting.
- Monthly Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements, providing accurate and timely insights into the company's financial health.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial data and analyze variances for management reporting.
- Audit Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, coordinating and facilitating audit processes.
- Prepare comprehensive workpapers to support audit findings and ensure adherence to audit timelines.
- CPA Certification and Compliance:
- Stay abreast of accounting regulations and ensure compliance with local accounting standards in the US.
- Work towards or maintain a CPA certification, ensuring the company's financial practices align with industry standards.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in financial reporting and auditing procedures.
- Implement efficient workflows to enhance accuracy, transparency, and effectiveness in financial operations.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal teams to obtain relevant financial information, ensuring accurate representation in financial statements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to address inquiries and provide financial insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in transitioning accounting systems to accrual/GAAP basis.
- Previous experience managing audits and preparing work papers.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
- Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and deadlines
- Previous experience with US companies
- Previous experience with ERP systems and CPA Certification will be a plus
- Previous experience with manufacturing industries
- Experience with QuickBooks, Sage INTACCT, and Sage 300
Compensation: $50,000 - $70,000 USD per year
