Our client is looking for a Corporate Accounting Manager who is seeking to join a fast-growing startup immediately. The ideal candidate will own day-to-day corporate accounting, oversee the monthly accounting close, establish and monitor internal controls, and ensure effective policies & procedures are in place. As the Manager of Corporate Accounting, you have in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, proficiency in accounting systems, and strong motivation to contribute to the achievement of an efficient monthly/quarterly/annual close and financial reporting process.
Lead the Corporate Accounting team and ensure accurate and complete accounting records, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures
Manage the accounting close cycle ensuring timelines are established and met
Act as subject matter expert regarding the proper treatment of general ledger transactions following GAAP
Own the account reconciliation process and guide the accounting team to drive continuous improvements
Establish accounting accruals and reserves
Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and operating effectively
Support the external audit by preparing work papers and memos, providing supporting audit schedules, evidence, and process overviews
Assist with banking and cash management functions
Oversee the lease accounting process
Partner with product development teams to build scalable accounting processes by driving enhancements to our internal systems and related processes
Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and cross-functional partners surrounding the accounting processes
Assist with other projects as assigned
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
Experience: 5-7+ years of accounting experience; public accounting experience is a plus but not required
Qualifications: Active CPA or equivalent license (a plus but not required)
Systems: NetSuite experience and Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Advanced understanding of US GAAP
2+ years' in real estate, property management, or a closely related field (a plus but not required)
Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills
Highly adaptable with great attention to detail and takes a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
