Overview

Our client is looking for a Corporate Accounting Manager who is seeking to join a fast-growing startup immediately. The ideal candidate will own day-to-day corporate accounting, oversee the monthly accounting close, establish and monitor internal controls, and ensure effective policies & procedures are in place. As the Manager of Corporate Accounting, you have in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, proficiency in accounting systems, and strong motivation to contribute to the achievement of an efficient monthly/quarterly/annual close and financial reporting process.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Corporate Accounting team and ensure accurate and complete accounting records, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures

• Manage the accounting close cycle ensuring timelines are established and met

• Act as subject matter expert regarding the proper treatment of general ledger transactions following GAAP

• Own the account reconciliation process and guide the accounting team to drive continuous improvements

• Establish accounting accruals and reserves

• Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and operating effectively

• Support the external audit by preparing work papers and memos, providing supporting audit schedules, evidence, and process overviews

• Assist with banking and cash management functions

• Oversee the lease accounting process

• Partner with product development teams to build scalable accounting processes by driving enhancements to our internal systems and related processes

• Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and cross-functional partners surrounding the accounting processes

• Assist with other projects as assigned

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field

• Experience: 5-7+ years of accounting experience; public accounting experience is a plus but not required

• Qualifications: Active CPA or equivalent license (a plus but not required)

• Systems: NetSuite experience and Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Advanced understanding of US GAAP

• 2+ years' in real estate, property management, or a closely related field (a plus but not required)

• Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills

• Highly adaptable with great attention to detail and takes a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
