Join our dynamic holding company as a skilled Senior Accountant, pivotal in managing finances across our diverse portfolio, including a commercial construction contractor and a building products distributor. This fully remote role focuses on comprehensive accounting tasks, emphasizing billing for construction projects (Time & Material and AIA contract billing), maintaining pricing data, and contributing to procurement. While experience with Sage Intacct is beneficial, it's not mandatory. This role supports existing companies and any future acquisitions.
Prepare and issue invoices for construction projects, managing both Time & Material (T&M) and AIA contract billing processes.
Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Update stock and sales pricing information for precise cost accounting and profitability analysis.
Enter vendor bills, ensuring organization and clarity with related purchase orders.
Actively participate in purchasing and procurement, including vendor relationship management and inventory accounting.
Manage the accounting email inbox, taking action on incoming messages and disseminating information as needed.
Perform daily cash reconciliations.
Conduct monthly and quarterly accruals, account reconciliations, and continuous ledger maintenance for the operating entity and subsidiaries.
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, and opportunities for financial optimization.
Collaborate with the controller for semi-annual audits and assist with tax preparation, planning, and compliance.
Contribute to internal control and policy development to enhance financial procedures and strategic planning.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ YOE in Accounting
Proficient in QuickBooks or Sage Intacct (knowledge of one or both is required).
Proven experience with construction project billing, including T&M and AIA billing methods.
Proficiency in Sage Intacct is a strong plus but not essential.
Demonstrated ability to manage stock and sales prices within a distribution or retail context.
Knowledge of purchasing and procurement processes.
Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
Billing Accuracy: Precise billing activities for the construction company, reflecting current contracts and time & materials accurately.
Financial Integrity: Impeccable financial records and consistent provision of accurate financial reporting.
Process Optimization: Active improvement and streamlining of billing, pricing, and procurement processes, contributing to the bottom line.
System Mastery: Proficiency in Sage Intacct (if not already adept), leveraging its features to enhance financial operations.
Strategic Procurement: Providing strategic insights and contributions to the procurement process.
