We are looking for:
The Director of Performance Creative Strategy is a creative leadership role dedicated to ensuring we deliver impressive and impactful creative that converts for our clients. You’ll lead the Creative Strategist team to make the best creative possible while keeping the team excited and motivated.
7+ years of hands-on experience in a Creative Strategy role.
Leadership experience managing a team of 5+ direct reports.
Experience with Direct Response creative and landing pages for paid media platforms (Meta, TikTok), working with DTC, subscription, ecommerce brands.
Not afraid to give critical feedback.
You live, eat, and breathe social media marketing. You’re always looking for the latest TikTok, Meta, and more trends.
Must have a creative mindset and the ability to visualize creative briefs/critique creative assets and provide creative direction to drive conversion.
Professional and proactive client & internal communication skills.
Ability to manage a team and your responsibilities as a remote worker.
A gritty work ethic. You aren't afraid to work smart, hard, and long to meet and exceed goals.
Strong A/B testing and quantitative analysis capabilities.
Ability to multi-task and thrive in the face of steep goals and deadlines.
Ready to work during US business hours (conference calls, Slack, etc.).
Ability to stay cool, calm, and collected in a fast-paced, growth-stage startup environment.
Optional but preferred: experience running paid search (Google Ads platforms - Search, Display, YouTube), TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Reddit.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Performance Creative Strategy will shape and refine the creative strategies across all of Primer. Will focus on ensuring the team develops purposeful creative that converts and is launched and optimized to drive results.
Keeps pushing Primer to be a better expert and thought leader in performance creative. Ensures that our team is delivering thoughtful, conversion-driving creative to our client partners. It ultimately ensures our organization delivers on our promise to our client partners: to boost their growth marketing efficiency and scale through growth marketing creative.
Own Primer’s Creative Wins KPI (creative/copy/LP performance)
Prepare and present results in the Leadership KPIs meeting
Ensure accuracy of Wins reporting
Collaborate with the Vice President of Paid Media and CEO to evolve the responsibilities of the Creative Strategy department to improve Wins KPI
Even evolve new KPIs that fit within the skills and responsibilities of the department to drive overall business objectives forward.
Develop best practices around making creative & copywriting for direct response marketing
Build, Manage, and mentor a team of Creative Strategists
Train, communicate, document, etc., our creative and ad ops strategies to improve the Win KPI
Operationalize these methods/processes and delegate those to direct reports
Create/improve creative brief training to increase quality and decrease time
Facilitate creative brainstorms & mentor/train direct reports to run brainstorms on their own
Review creative briefs and make recommendations to improve conversion potential
Experimenting with new testing methods that embrace the high-volume creative/messaging testing of the Primer Way
Identify the best accounts to test new ideas and strategies, weighing risks, opportunities, product types, and partnership relationships.
New hire training, plus recurring training to reinforce creative best practices
Training documents and videos publicly available for both internal and external customers
Training documents, videos, and live training for Primer On-Demand employees and contractors
i.e., Training video editors on what performs well on Meta, TikTok, etc., training image editors similar, training landing page editors similar, then training on what drives performance on different platforms
