As an eCommerce Engineer, your role would be to develop, design and maintain the eCommerce platform for our client’s company. You would be responsible for creating a seamless, efficient, and user-friendly shopping experience for customers.
Developing, maintaining, and enhancing the eCommerce platform to meet business needs, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and secure.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, design, and development teams to ensure that eCommerce projects meet business goals.
Creating and maintaining custom eCommerce features such as payment processing, shopping carts, and order tracking.
Creating and maintaining integrations with third-party platforms and tools such as payment gateways, shipping carriers, and inventory management systems.
Analyzing website traffic and user behavior to identify improvement areas and optimize site performance.
Ensuring that the eCommerce site is fully responsive, mobile-friendly, and adheres to all accessibility and usability standards.
Collaborating with customer service teams to ensure that the eCommerce site meets customer needs and is easy to use.
Troubleshooting and debugging any issues with the eCommerce site, and providing technical support to customers when needed.
Keeping up to date with the latest trends and technologies in eCommerce, and making recommendations for improvements to the platform.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in developing and maintaining production eCommerce platforms, preferably with Shopify or Shopify+.
Must have deployed Shopify sites that can be shared and reviewed as part of the interview process (and be able to answer detailed questions about the site design and implementation).
Expertise with Analytics and ability to funnel quizzes from Shopify to trackable events - the ability to hook Analytics from Shopify (as an example) and integrate across GTM, GA, etc.,
Strong programming skills in languages such as React, Java, Python, or PHP.
Strong knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
Experience with API integration with 3rd party email campaign systems for customized email, payment processing, and third-party tools such as shipping carriers and inventory management systems.
Experience integrating with CRM systems for lead generation.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and tools such as Jira or Trello.
Passion for eCommerce and a strong desire to stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in the field.
Have experience working in a fast paced-startup environment.
