As a Shopify Developer, you’ll be responsible for:

• Working with the Director of Product to deliver experiences that are compliant and technically sound to drive customer growth.

• Pursuing innovations and known opportunities for impact will be vital to our success on the channel.

Through customers feedback and in partnering internal teams, you will:

• Acquire expert knowledge of our customer base, market competition, and opportunities for impacting the core experience.

• Use this understanding to interpret a roadmap, ’working with the Director of Product to envision, prioritize, plan, and execute improvements and features that deliver tangible results.

In this role, you will be accountable to Exhibit autonomy, ownership, and sound judgment as you lead yourself and outsourced support to deliver impact.

Your Day-to-Day:

You will report directly to the Director of Product and be a collaborative team member across all departments in the company. You will

• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to creative ideation to drive brand strategy and brand value for our clients.

• Primarily focus on front-end development, and also be responsible for the back-end setup, configuration, and coding when required to implement a website feature.

• Regularly and proactively communicate on the status of projects, tasks, priorities, deadlines, and issues.

• Effectively communicate the scope of new projects and recommend development approaches, requirements, and timelines for new projects.

• Work on delivering a defined roadmap and sprints agreed upon at the start of every week.

• Work with outsourced support to update existing website content, adding new templates, pages, and functionality.

• Troubleshoot and fix website issues, e.g. cross-browser styling issues or broken functionality.

• Integrate, and customize third-party services, plugins, and apps that solve problems.

• Complete development tasks with an eye for design, requiring minimal rounds of QA revisions.

Experience Requirements

Must-Have:

Working Knowledge and years of experience

• 2+ years of relevant experience

• Shopify, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, DOM, Liquid, and JavaScript.

• jQuery, ES2015/ES6, and other trending JS frameworks.

• AJAX API, Meta fields, and other objects/properties within Shopify.

• Shopify Storefront APIs, Git, and JSON

• Third-party Shopify apps, including implementation and debugging.

• Customization of pre-built Shopify templates, customizing and building on top of them

• Developing cross-browser compatible, responsive websites optimized for screens/devices of all sizes and able to resolve cross-browser compatibility issues reliably.

• Web accessibility requirements (ADA/WCAG 2.0)

   

Experience in the following Preferred:
You’ve done it before but aren’t an expert.

• Shopify Plus-specific features, including Shopify Scripts and Shopify Flow.

• Experience in providing conversion rate-focused optimization recommendations

• Familiar with implementing custom Google Analytics tracking events, GTM, Google Optimize, etc.
