Overview of the position
We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Senior Accountant who is passionate about playing a critical role in scaling our fast-growing company. You should enjoy challenges and be able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently with a high level of attention to detail. This is a high-visibility role upon which you will support not only the finance team but the whole organization. You will work closely with our current Senior Accountant, the Director of FP&A, and the COO in complex accounting areas to ensure the integrity of the financial statements and drive insights across business units. Responsibilities
- Own the cost side of the business. This includes owning accounts payable, how we capitalize various costs (software development, certain compensation), and payroll
- Support revenue accounting, tax compliance, and audits. We have a majority of our tax work in-house, so this is a great opportunity to apply your strong tax background and own this function
- Assist with all internal and external financial statement reporting, including analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis to identify relationships and drivers of material account fluctuations
- Design and implement controls as new risks are identified
- Develop, operationalize, and maintain accounting policies, best practices, and procedures in a rapidly growing organization
- Identify areas for improvement on existing processes, and create new ones where there are gaps
Requirements
- 3+ years experience working in any discipline(s) of accounting
- CPA or equivalent credential (candidates with a mastery of accounting knowledge who do not have a professional credential are still encouraged to apply)
- Deep understanding of at least one of the following: US GAAP, IFRS, Internal Control/COSO Framework, US Tax Law
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and reliably in a remote work environment
- Proficient with Excel and Google Workspace
